I was able to get my XP on the lake today and it ran great. It started but I need to raise the idle just a bit, other than that, it was perfect, until I ran it across the lake. As long as I run it at moderate throttle, everything is great, but when I push it to WOT, the oil light comes on.

It has plenty of oil, there was a quart in it, then I added another quart before I went out. I'm using Amsoil Interceptor full synthetic.

The oil light will stay on until I pull the lanyard for a few seconds, put it back on and restart, then it goes off. It will stay off at 0-3/4 throttle, but as soon as a full throttle it, the light comes on. I idled it to the shore and took the seat off and everything was nice and cool, as far as the engine and exhaust goes, no leaks anywhere, and still plenty of oil in the tank.

I checked the oil lines and they are either completely full, or completely empty, it's hard to tell from the yellowish clear lines. Is there way to make sure that oil is flowing to the carbs, without making a huge mess? The big oil tube is full, as I used clear oil lines on that, but I can't tell if it's flowing either.

It's only electrical dependent, throttle position has nothing to do with it. Only reason I can think of is the higher voltage generated at WOT. Or.....pull the sensor from the tank, if it's cracked or something maybe when you accelerate the oil is leaving the sensor too fast when the oil sloshes around. This would trigger the light. I'd ohm check the connection were the sensor connects at the tank, should be blue wires. It sounds like its the sensor or the sensor connection is having a continuity issue. When it's soaked in oil in the tank it closes the circuit, loses oil or the tank gets; low the circuit opens.

The oil light is just a float activated idiot light, has nothing to do with the oil system function.
