My wife likes the Islandia. I was wondering how fast a 2000 Islandia with the 240 merc would be? And does it have enough power for tubing etc. And finally, how does the weight of each passenger affect the performance?
Thanks

Islandia

I can not help you about the merc engine, but as far as the Islandia.
What a great all around family boat. I have the 2008 Islandia with 430 hp, it top out at 62 MPH and can pull a house!

Wow..430hp! So, if you're doing 62, I can only assume that a single Merc 240 would be mid 30's. Can anyone comment on that.

You will have enough for Tubing and skiing. 240hp is more than enough. Top out around 60mph in my speedster. I think you are a little bigger so maybe around 50 - 55 but still pretty darn good.

Boattest did a review of the 2003 Islandia

The Islandia is powered by a single 240-hp Mercury M2 EFI jet engine that was developed specifically for this model. Out on the water she turned out to be a good performer jumping out of the hole in just 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 40.5 mph at 5800 rpm. Her best cruise was 26.8 mph giving her a range of 98 miles on a full tank of fuel.

Overall, the Sea-Doo Islandia has a lot to offer for a 22-footer. She’s not only a good performer, but she’s also a versatile sport boat that can be transformed to suit your needs, whether it’s waterskiing you like, pulling up to a beach for a picnic, or simply sun bathing, the Islandia is an ideal platform for these activities.

Sea-Doo Islandia Test Result Highlights
•Top speed for the Sea-Doo Islandia is 40.5 mph (65.2 kph), burning 26.7 gallons per hour (gph) or 101.06 liters per hour (lph).

•Best cruise for the Sea-Doo Islandia is 26.8 MPH (43.1 kph), and the boat gets 1.98 miles per gallon (mpg) or 0.84 kilometers per liter (kpl), giving the boat a cruising range of 98 miles (157.72 kilometers).

•Tested power is 1x240-hp Mercury M2 EFI Jetdrive.
