Neither one of my docking lights work. I've checked the fuse, it is good. Checked the bulbs, they don't appear to be bad. I checked the wires at the rocker switch on the driver's panel. They are connected tight and the wires get hot when the switch is on, so the switch seems to work as well. I know there aren't many Islandia owners active on the forum, but if some of you other long time boat owners could chime in, I would appreciate it. I don't really need them, but I'm one of those guys who likes everything to work. Thanks.

Do you mean the wires get hot to the touch or hot as in they get power? They should not get hot to the touch, if so you have a short somewhere. Use a voltmeter or test light to check the wires at the light.

Went out this morning to do some more troubleshooting. The rocker switches have a light and when turned on, the light turns on. The rocker switch for the docking lights, when turned on, doesn't light up. Could I have a bad switch?

I doubt it is the switch. The wires going to the light wouldnt ge hot unless the switch is working. Find the ground side of the switch and check it good. Then check the ground wires to the lights.

Could possibly be the switch. Depending on how its wired, which I'm clueless to.

It's possible the switch is gone, but not very likely if it is fused. The fuse should take the bulk of the hit so that the switch doesn't. I would check for a short somewhere in line. It could be possible that the light just stopped working on your switch. If you can get into it put a meter on the switch and see if it's getting volts. If so then your problem is most likely past the switch.

Thanks for the replies. I think I am screwed. The wires get hot to the touch just behind the switch, so when I turn it on, it must be getting power. I'll just keep working on it. Thanks again, and if I luck out and fix out, I'll let you all know.

Not sure how difficult it is to remove the lights to check voltage behind them but that would be my next step. If they are getting voltage than your lights must be burnt out.
