From what I can find online this looks like the larger type 2 set of carbs from a 657 94 xp... maybe? I have a 587 93 xp that came with a single carb. In an attempt to regain the bottom end power I ordered a set of carbs but they dont look right to me. I'm also trying to find the right airbox for them so if anyone is able to identify the carbs I would be grateful. The other question I have is... where would the throttle and choke cable be mounted? From pictures I've seen for the airbox plates they dont show a slot for the cable.

Honestly you will not gain any performance from two carbs vs. one and you might even loose a little bottom end plus they are more tempermental to tune and more expensive to rebuild since you have two.

This is especially true on a 580 and all seadoo single carb and dual carb engines were rated at the same horsepower.

In my opinion marketing. They have a minimal gain at top end.
After 1997 I think or close to that seadoo removed the dual carbs from the 720 engine and only sold them with single carbs and no change in horsepower.
“Twin carb” is great for sales.

Unless you are adding an aftermarket pipe and head there is no reason to go dual carbs on your 580.

Fair enough. I guess there is only so much air / fuel you can shove at it. I had thought my sp was out performing because the xp wasn't equipped properly. Could a lack of hole shot be the wear ring?
