Quick question and sorry if this has been answered before.
I have a 2007 GTI that is experiencing acceleration problems. No problem with RPMs, but very little acceleration.
From researching on this board, the most common problems are with the wear ring, the impeller, or the carbon seal.
My wear ring is a little scored but based on the pictures I've seen not bad enough to cause such low speed (5-10 MPH) at any RPM. The impeller looks good with no appearant damage. I have not checked the carbon seal yet but I did notice something when I fired it up in the driveway last night.
When I attached the water hose and turned it on, there was a good stream of water spraying out from around the reducer area.
Is that normal or is that area supposed to be sealed?
If it helps to troubleshoot, the rider reported that the problem started right after going over a large wave and getting some air.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,
Dave
