I can't seem to find the exact spec for this unit. Is it 185 or 215? It's not a GTX Limited. The seller is advertising it as a 215 but I want to be sure.
The GTX limited is 215, 8,000 rpm limit.
The GTX SC is 185 hp with supercharger.
The GTX is 155 hp.
The hull number should help ID. Someone else at the forum can help here.
The Limited should run 168 to 170 mph. Ride it and do a compression check.
The question would be.. The 215 and 185 hp is the same engine. What would it take to upgrade the the 185 with SC to 215 hp. Newer SC?? CanDoo reprogram the RPM higher??
.
Sorry, just a thought if you buy.... Just got me curious to see what our members know... Anyone??

Thanks. I put a deposit down today (small) and then read here that it was 185 and not 215. I'll be walking away from the deal and going with a 2007 Wake Pro that I'm looking at. The 2007 will relieve my fears about the exhaust valve heads breaking off. I'll do the supercharger washers before the thing even hits the water and I should be good to go.
Sounds like a good call. It takes a lot to get the 185 to 215 status, including changing pistons. The true 215 has a lot more potential. Give us a ring when you are ready for the rebuild.

Now I'm really confused. The seller is adamant that his unit is a 2006 GTX Limited but the color scheme is black and grey, like the 2005 literature I've read. All pics I've seen of a 2006 GTX Limited are the light blue and white combo. Were there two different color schemes for 2006? Is this seller just mistaken about his model year? He says the title says 2006 and that he bought it new in 2006, but I've seen 3 and 4 year old toys sitting at dealers brand new before.
Ask him about top speed... Should be 68-70 mph. Then ride it.
Get the numbers on the front of the engine. The shop manual has a list of engines per number. Get the hull number under the front seat.
