Impeller shaft broken?

Hey guys! Have a quick question for you. Today while cleaning my PWC I looked through the water intake and saw that the impeller shaft "rubber" doesn't go all the way to the impeller (see pic). Is this ok or something is wrong? If it is wrong, what and how severe?

Impeller Shaft

I'm sure your impeller shaft if not broken. If it was your ski would not move, and it would make a lot of noise. It would have to be something really extreame.
