Impeller seal placement?

I have a new impeller. I guess the green part is the impeller seal? It looks like one end snaps on, but the other side has threads. There is nothing for it to screw into? This green seal does become loose after I use it.

Do i need to worry about this? Is there a part missing?

Just get the original one on amazon/ebay for a few bucks
or use Red loctite on the threads on that one if you don use red loctite it wll come off , so dont even bother .

The green aluminum part is the boot that Solas uses and they generally fit very well and don't come loose. They are only made to fit Solas but looks like your impeller is a Solas.

I don't think an OEM one will fit the Solas. It should just push in and fit snugly in the impeller and then just push on the driveshaft. That impeller doesn't look like it is the left handed threaded type that the newer OEM ones are.

The 2007 GTI one just snaps in it’s not left thread or right thread. It keeps popping out even if I loctite.
