impeller question

I have a 95 gts I got as a basket case, pump assy all apart for bad bearings! I found a good used pump housing,and was wondering if there is a trick to getting the impeller back in as it seems snug and I don't want to force it and hurt the wear ring! Any help would be great! Thanks.

You should be seeing .006 -.008 impeller clearance to wear-ring. Check your Shop Manual for your ski as some are different specs, and how to adjust the fit
to be sure thats right! Bills86e

Thanks,But I am having trouble getting it in the wear ring, the manual says to use liquid soap or some other lube and was just wondering what the trick is to getting it past the lip!
