I picked up a 2001 GTX di 951 that needed the jet pump rebuilt. It was out of it with an extra impeller housing. The extra housing was a 155 mm so I thought I was golden. I bought a rebuild kit, installed the two bearings and one seal. I wanted to check fitment so I threw the impeller in and hand tightened it down with the thrust washer and bearing installed on the shaft and no wear ring installed yet. It wouldn't turn. I checked things out and everything seems to be installed right so I tried researching the part numbers. It looks like people use both housings interchangeably.
Can anyone verify that I shouldn't be having problems with either housing? The one that supposedly came off of it is # 271 000 873. The other pump is 271 001 116.
They definitely have a couple of obvious differences so I might just rebuild the original one. I didn't want to waste money on another rebuild kit if I didn't have to. Another thing, the wear ring slid right into the replacement pump and hadn't been drilled for set screws yet. The wear ring will have to be press fit into the original pump like it "should" be.
Any help is appreciated.
