Hello all!
Just got a full rebuild on my 99 gtx ltd all went well when breking it in-in the water. When I got it home to flush it I started it & turned the hose on. After about 30 seconds idiling the 951 started to rev, and rev until it got to the point of all out!! I switched the water off and pulled the choke and the ski settled to an acceptable idle but as soon as i put the choke back in off she revved again.
Kustom Karl has answered why the ski does this, as did the people who built the motor but one thing I forgot to ask them was: If it is acceptable for the motor to rev like this, when new, how in the future can I flush the ski if it's going to rev the crap out of its self every time it's out of the water?
I can only flush the motor for 30 seconds before it starts to really rev. Is this 30 seconds enough!!!
