I have a 97 gtx limited that i just got running thanks to SEADOO forums. Its idling way to high (4000-4500 rpm). If you hit the throttle it bogs. I cleaned the carbs but broke the T fitting. Took that carb back apart and drilled and replaced with a brass nipple and a brass T. The gas in the ski has been in it a couple years so i mixed a couple gallons of 40:1 with it. Any thoughts?????????

Its bogging out...... you thing it maybe a gasket or seal? I had a similar problem on a quad. Had an airleak at the reed cage and leaned it out. Is there an easy way to figure out where its at????

There isn't an easy way to check. Take it all apart, and replace the gaskets.

Did you have the intake manifold off the engine? You may have the rotary valve timing out a little.

no i didnt mess with the intake, if i spray carb cleaner on the carbs and listen for a change and then pinpoint. I guess what im tring to say is ive done that on a carb on a vehicle and found the leak but will i damage a 2 stroke during it.

Nope... don't spray carb cleaner into the engine while it's running. It's very hard on a 2-stroke since it will displace the oil.

Carbs off, go over them again, and new manifold gaskets.

One other thing... you could have a crank seal leak. The only want to know is to do a leak down.
