Identifying a split pump hose

Hey all,

My 09 GTX 255 had a split hose that goes to the jet pump. It is external to the hull. I was able to ID the hose on the diagrams and have the new part, but am wondering exactly what it goes to and if it is okay to run the ski on a dolly (with hose) while this hose is torn until I get the rrar torn apart. The picture is looking from the rear.

Hi mate, I'm pretty sure that's the intake for the cooling system... I think it runs into the IBR before going to the intercooler.... but I could be wrong... also it could be the exit.... either way I'm pretty sure you should be OK to run the ski on the dolly with a hose attached, as the hose is bypassing the pump. The pump normally acts a a venturi system forcing water through the cooling system when the boat/ski is in the water and running. Since the boat/ski is out of the water we need to use a hose to push water through the system manually.

Remember not to run the ski for more than a few minutes out of the water as the driveline carbon ring will overheat and fail.

Thanks Rod! That is what I suspected. Looks like a mouse chewed a hole in it, causing the cooling system to fail for the previous owner. I currently have the pump out and an going to replace the hose. Thanks again!
