Hey guys, I need some advice. I have a 2005 supercharged RXT, the ski has 128 hours on it. I have been calling to get prices on getting the supercharger rebuilt. The local dealership want beetween 650 and 700 for the rebuilt. Another local shop want to replace the supercharger with a new one from the RXT-X, he wants 900, if he cant send the current one on for a core, if its not blown apart then I will get 100 dollar credit for the core charge. I am lost and dont know which way I should go with this. Thanks guys I really need some advice on this.

PLease guys I know there are a lot of you out there with a lot of knowledge. I would just like someone to steer me in the right direction.

Noob.... First... give it a little time, someone will answer.

OK... you say you need a rebuild, which is normal at the 100 hr mark, but you hint that it may be blown up. Did you have a supercharger failure, or is this just your 100 hr rebuild?

Second... what exactly are you asking us? You are asking for advice, but not being very specific since we don't know the situation.

Either way... it's expensive to get the work done.

Let us know, and we can better answer your question.

I have yet to put the ski in the water, so i dont know that I had a blow up but I was told the ski ran great at the end of last year, so I am assuming it is all godd. However I want to get this preventative maintenance done before we finally get some warm weather and maybe I can get this thing in the water. All I am asking is if anyone has tried putting the bigger supercharger into this ski, and what knod of luck they have had with it. Or if anyone has had better luck with something different. Just looking for any ideas I may not have thought of, or known about.

I apolagize for my impatiance, I just want to make a decision on what to do, so I can move forward and hopefully have this thing in the water by memorial day.

OK... now I see what you are asking.

I would not put on a "Bigger" supercharger. If you add boost, or air volume... the system will need to be re-tuned. It can be done, but it's not as simple as feeding it more air.

If the supercharger has never been rebuilt... you need to do it. I would recommend a regular rebuild, using Riva tool steel washers. The stock ceramic washers are known to disintegrate. When they fail... the will drop into the engine, and destroy it. I know it's expensive to get done... but it will get even more expensive if you kill the engine.

I would call around, but you are looking at +$600 to have the rebuild done.

I hope that helps, and sorry if I seemed short earlier.
