I am overlooking something stupid?

I bought a '05 Speedster 200 (370hp), and after carefully looking at all the hardware I forgot the simplest thing as checking the electronics. I got it home and decided to see how the stereo sounded and it wouldn't power on, neither will any of the switched items (blower, lights, etc). The engines start fine.

Here' the deal... I put the DESS in, and it gives two beeps (I guess these are the OK beeps), then a second later makes the same identical 2 beeps. Then, it will keep making a series of 4 short beeps / chirps (which I found from searching means it is waiting for you to start the engine or to get you to remove the key).

Any ideas on what's up? I've never owned a Sea Doo before and not sure if this could be fuse related or electronic module related or what. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now, so hopefully I can either feel stupider because there is something basic I am overlooking, or hopefully it is something as simple as some connections getting unplugged.

Anxiously waiting for some insight as I don't want blinding start unplugging stuff and yanking fuses creating perhaps another problem in the interim.

Thanks in advance!!!

Just FYI... I checked the fuse block behind the console. I also checked the 3 inline fuses that hang from the top of the engine compartment above the battery (20a, 20a, and 3a). Couldn't see any that were blown. The only fuse that I saw, that I didn't check was the 40a block style (?) fuse in behind the console.

At a loss and still have fingers crossed I am just totally missing something silly.

One more notable mention. The owner had just replaced the battery before I came down there. I am thinking perhaps power wire was disconnected from it. I did not see any stray wires during a cursorily inspection. There is only one hotwire attached to the battery. Should there be more than one lead attached to the battery? If so, that would likely be the culprit.

After lots of searching, cuts and inhaled glass I found the culprit. There was a return ground obviously coming from the front electronics that was not connected to the battery, likely when they changed it. All is working now. The simplest things tend to give the most headaches.

Welcome to the seadoo forum beezer...It's not to often that a member will post a problem and diagnose it them self in the following post...If you still have concerns come back and post your question and I'm sure you'll get a quick response. This is a friendly forum with an adult attitude that helps out each other. We do have fun on here but at no ones expense. I'm glad you got the problem resolved, and I would go over the wiring to be sure something else wasn't left loose or unplugged just to give you peace of mind.
I know you'll love the jet boat after you get it in the water. If we can help come on back and give us a shout. If you want a repair manual you could join as a premium member and down load a copy of an authentic seadoo manual, from the seadoo forum. It has lots of information on your boat with wire diagrams and trouble shooting if needed. Click on the link"Seadoo Manuals" at the top of the page for more details. I have been a premium member for a while now, and it has helped me out a lot, and saved me lots of money from doing my own repairs. Good luck with your new doo and come back and visit.
