Hey guys. My brother hyrdolocked the motor in our rxp last year. I took the motor all apart a few months ago and haven't gotten back to it yet. one of the connecting rods is definitely bent. Just wondering what else usually breaks when a motor is hyrdolocked. The valves all seemed to be fine,,, the crank is a bit scarred on one of the counterweights from the bent rod.

Also wondering what the best thing to do here is. We are most likely wanting to sell this one once it is up and running again, so we are wanting to keep it cheaper. Thank you.

I would do all the rods. bearings and have the crank turned depending on the scarring on the journal. wait is it on the journal or the weight cause if it isnt on a journal it is probably fine with a few scratches. get new bearings and with it hydro locked buy a new set of stretch bolts. Joe a senica boat sales in Maryland, US can get you the entire set of stretch bolts for about 150 which is cheap. I found him after i did my last motor and paid like 10$ per bolt from the brp dealer. I am interested in the ski as is if you are interested in selling pm me. Another thing with hydro locked you should get a bar gauge and make sure all the surfaces are perfect flat. also when using NEW gaskets use copper spray on them. Another thing get lucas break in additive for high performance motors. Put it in the new oil and change after a few hours of use. The additive has phosphorus and zinc and will fill the fine pits and scars in the cyls and block. many more things to do with the motor to make sure it is a good build.
