I have 2 dogs. Both around 55 lbs and shar pei. Their nails grown fast and get cut a lot, I have had them in my boat and never harmed the turf yet.

Lab / Retriever Mix

Yep we got one too and she is about 65 lbs and we trim them often. She comes on board and has never caused any damage to the HT.

There are some gouges in it but those were my fault dropping some tools while making some mods.

I think it'll be fine

Our 70 pound Curly Coated Retriever spends a lot of time in our boat. We added HydroTurf to the passenger floor specifically for her, so she doesn't keep slipping around when we make sharp turns and such. We don't trim nor file her nails in the summertime (they wear naturally on our beach) but there is absolutely no damage to the HydroTurf at all.

Install it and get on with your life... HydroTurf is the best.

Hydroturf is crazy durable.

There were two reasons I pulled up the Hydroturf on the 96 GSX I've been working on:
1. I HATE purple. Changed to black.
2. The rear mat had been shredded by a cat that was sharpening its claws at night on the moored ski on a regular basis.

That said, a dog is NO problem for Hydroturf.
