How would you start a new engine that’s too tight?

I could loosen the plugs, but im not sure if that’s the best option? I’ve went all the way up to a battery from my BMW (which are notoriously huge) and i still can’t get half a rotation out of it.

The starter did fine when i removed the engine and it spins fine without the plugs in. It’s just super tight. The engine has never been started.

if you think the motor is locked up you could try taking out the plugs and then squirting down some lubricant down the plug holes to try and free it up, but I wouldn't recommend hooking up a car battery to the ski. The jet pump could also be frozen causing it to not even turn over.

Re-read.

Don’t wanna throw parts at it, but im going to need a lot more starter power than i have. It started before but that was only 135 psi. Now at 150 it’s just not budging it. I have 900cca available in that battery which is way too much, but it is confirming that the starter isn’t pushing the engine at any amperage it’s given. Guess I’ll bite the bullet and get a new starter for extra umph!

Compression is just too tight. Here’s a vid, when i go down to one cyl at 150psi it’ll rotate. When i do both the starter can’t cut it.

New starter will be ordered in the morning. Sigh...... I’ve been waiting to start this for over a year. Finally got oil and gas in it today and now this.

150psi is what a healthy motor should have

I’m starting to think people are interviewed for responses. I began to see evidence of carbon buildup on the comm with how it was acting so i took a peek inside and sure enough the comm was gummed up. The brushes still have a good amt of tension so i think I’ll get it going with a little hillbilly truing with some 800 grit. It looks like i was getting maybe 15% contact on the brushes.

There’s the difference. It still has some light pitting but I think I’ll get more than enough contact without it arcing.
