First off i want to thank everyone on the forum. Im new to PWC's and picked up a sea doo bombardier GTX from my uncle for a good deal. I used the forum to figure out how to fix the bad running (clogged fuel screens inside carbs) and to fix the gas gauge.

My question is how do i start my sea doo out of water. I know i can run a garden hose but just not sure how to run it/where to put it. I want to make sure it runs good before taking it out to the lake and paying to put it in the water

Thanks, Frank

most seadoos will have a threaded tube on the backside of the watercraft. it is just next to the jet nozzle. You can screw the garden hose onto this and you will be fine to start it.

Even with the hose you can only run 10 mins or so, the hull seal must have some water to cool/lubricate it - but if you have the hose connector - no you have a flat top motor in 95, this connector is on the back of the head cyl and you have to add something for the hose yourself for the water to go in, anyway motor on first-the hose on-turn off hose first-turn off motor last or water goes backwards into the crankshaft area, if the motor does not run well leave the hose alone and fix the problem. On that earlier style be sure to grease the hull seal carrier which is the tube in the middle, to solve running problem like you want to do with the hose take the boat to the last dock on the side and leave it on the trailer - dip it so the back is in the drink and do your running tests this way, observe any fuel/water/oil leaks and fix what you can right there or go to the parking lot if the dock area gets real busy or home if more serious things develop, then return to dip again and this way you can feel the warmth of flow in the pipes, test the battery voltage and lift the throttle a bit to get the juices flowing, everything is good when you can observe the oil system drinking also, mark the tank so you know it is drinking - use the same oil or plan a drainout cause mixing 2stroke oil sometimes makes a hard gel form similar to jelly on the outside of the jar, this plugs the oiling nozzles and can be cleaned out with kerosene but takes away some ride time.
