My xp steering cable got tight yesterday from middle to right. How can I lube it? I have a cable liner but these have a big metal part and no exposed cable.

Not sure if this will work on steering cables - but this is how I lubed my speedster shift/throttle cables

- 1/2 in. clear hose clamped to cable housing - fill hose with liquid lubricant & wait for gravity feeds to other end (drips out)
- You can also pressurize hose with a blow gun to force feed

Thanks. I got a little lube to go in. Seems like more people would have input in this since so many here restore old dead skis with dry cables.

I'm happy to hear that you were able to get some lube to go into your stuck cable. I ended up having to replace my cable (96 XP) and it was a total PITA to do!

I also had no luck lubing the sticky throttle cable on my 2004 Stingray 200LX bowrider boat. I ended up replacing it with a brand new cable. I spent a good bit of time trying to force oil down the cable by using a hose (like in the picture above in post #2) and compressed air but it didn't work for me at all.
