Just curious......
Yesterday my wife & I took a ride out a different direction that put us though a river that has about 30 minutes of "No wake" yep, bored silly idle cruising.
On the way back in, I rode on the GTX 155. It's always had some driveline chatter at idle like so many skis do, but seeing I was stuck in that mode for really long lengths I paid a little more attention tan usual. what I noticed is the noise is exaggerated because the engine doesn't idle really smooth. idles around 1800, but will jump 100 rpms or so & the driveline will chatter from the change in RPMS. So, I held the idle speed to 2K. same thing. really takes about 2500+ before its undetectable. Spark plug were replaced last fall when I bought the machine & it made the same chatter then, so I can rule out plugs.
I was thinking maybe its just how they are, but my SC 255 idles pretty darn smooth.
Not really worried about it, but I thought it was worth making the thread to see what others have noticed.
Thanks, 68RT
