I read stories of guys (or gals) finding and buying (always great deals?!) NON-Runners of the mid-90's vintage of skis and I'm really curious as to WHAT you would consider a fair price for a non-runner. Of course, exterior condition, interior condition, negotiation skills, seller desperation/desire, etc....will all factor in, as well as, your confidence/abilities (mechanically, electrically) and your patience level......BUT is there a MAX value you would put on a non-runner from the get go?

JUST the value of the ski (for arguments sake)....assume no trailer, etc......VERY CURIOUS...your thoughts.

That's a pretty broad question. I see guys ask that on car forums all the time and it always gets the same answer: Well, it depends...
I just paid $300 for a 95 Kawasaki ZXi 900 on a clean single place trailer. I wouldn't have bought it, but it came with a new rebuilt crank, recon'd cases, new top end that was bored already with new Wiseco pistons etc. All new gaskets. Basically everything needed to rebuild the motor. All I needed to do was hone the cylinders to fit the new pistons and put it all back together. Pretty easy job. The only reason I bought it was because of all the new parts and a trailer.
