Just wondering how many ppl install a aftermarket bilge pump in there ski's.

Not sure about other people, but I have auto bilges (Rule 25s) on my skis. Only for piece of mind encase of a carbon seal failure or whatever else since the bailers only work when moving.

I flip the auto switch at the launch and forget about it, on my GTX the circuit has a cell phone usb line tied into it and the switch is in the console, there's also a manual override button on the info center. The GSX has a small switch under the steering, manual override is far left button in the info center just like the GTX.

It’s also a good idea if you dock your skis for extended time but be aware as soon as the battery drains the pump stops and your ski still sinks.

I'm nervous about leaving it in the water at the dock more than 30 minutes, unlike some idiots that leave their new 2018 GTS skis in the water all year round. Then return at some point to find one sank.... this pic is from last July BTW.

I put bilge pumps in all of my skis. I don't think it's necessary but one day could be the difference between a broken ski and a sunken ski.

I have heard stories of people out in the ocean who undoubtedly would have lost their ski if the bilge wasn't keeping it from going under.

I think it's a cheap peace of mind that can only potentially help.

I used a manual on my first ski and an auto on my second. The auto pump is wonderful and I would only install them from now on. You just flip it on and it checks for water every 2 minutes.

Rule pumps are by far the best and consequently more expensive but worth the price. It's an easy install just be aware you will be punching a hole in your hull.

I like to place my bilge directly in front of one of the bailers as it's the lowest spot with easy access. Just put a little marine epoxy on the hull and epoxy the mount down to the hull.
