I just purchased a brand new speedster 150 and was thinking of also grabbing a used pwc just to have for some fun if i want.. not looking to kill the bank or anything.. trying to find a nice cheap unit.. i have been looking around and was curious what a safe amount of hours would be good.. I know a lot depends on the maintenance the owner did but just curious when most units start running into problems or will need a lot of repairs and whatnot.. Thanks for any input...

on a side note I found a unit online that I am considering.. guy claims it only has 15 hours and was a dealer demo.. its a 2000 model year and he is asking 3000... what is better.. newer model with more hours or older model with less hours??

i bought a 97 3 years ago. it had 70 hours and looked brand new. i have since put 50 hours on it. other than typical maintenance and repairs i haven't done much to it.

I just bought a 96 GSX with 163hours on it, looked brand new, ran like new, til last saturday when it decided to shit the bed and ripped a giant hole in the bottom of the engine. :)
