Hey everyone,
I just bought a 1997 seadoo challenger 1800 and have rebuilt the top end of both motors. I was wondering what my next steps should be to do to find out if it runs ok. So i need to figure out how to hook up water to the boat and if anyone has any advice to get the motors to turn over and anything that i might want to check before trying.

hook up hoses to boat first. DO NOT TURN ON WATER. start both motors, then turn on the water. shut water off before shutting off the motors. Never run water without the motors running. Run both at the same time or pinch off water lines.

"Run both at the same time or pinch off water " I don't think it is necessary to run both motors at the same time when using a hose connection. Do not run the boat on the water with only one engine.

Im pretty sure if one motor is ran with water on your trailer there is a water line you need to pinch to prevent water going into the the motor. I may be wrong, but that is my understanding of it.

the water flush/coolant lines do not go to each engine in my '98 challenger 1800. Each engine is it's own system with it's own flush fittings. You can use the fitting up top, under the hatch with the cap on it, if you pinch off the fitting out by the pump. I use the fittings on the pump myself because I installed quick disconnects when I had my pumps off. Otherwise I don't know how seadoo expected you to fit a hose there with the reverse buckets and stuff in the way.

Like the others said, start up the engine first then turn on the water. When you're done, shut off the water first then the engine.
