sorry if this has been discussed before but after searching I cant find anything.

last year i bought a brand new GTI130, im not a speed freak and just wanted to cruise and do some donuts here and their and loved how the GTI rode and how stable it was. I didnt think I needed the extra 25 HP for the GTI 155-SE and I really didnt want to spend more, but i now find my self wishing i had purchased the 155. :(

Is there anything I can do to make my ski a bit faster, i just want to hit 60MPH and a little more OOMPH to pull out of donuts with  My ski hits 55 with ease on pretty much all types of water, i know its speed limited but im sure there is a reason for that. but seems like a 5-7mph pump cant be too hard to achieve

I really dont want to trade it in because ill take a hit on it but if it costs me more to do all this aftermarket then maybe i should look at getting an end of year deal and holding onto the GTI until the beginning of next riding season...

Thanks!

If you want better performance at each end, purchase a more powerful ride.

Unfortunately, gaining 25 horse by going the after market route would be cost prohibitive to say the least. It sounds to me that you've been bitten by the 'bug'...so I'll say this. I believe once you make the leap up to a 155...you'll be eyeballing the 215.

I moved up from a '99 135 hp GTX to an 07 RXT 215 scic. And there is just no way I could give up the availble power. Your riding style sounds similar to mine....you dont need to go fast all the time, it's more about tight spins, long wide sweepers and tight turns you can barely hang onto, and exploding out of the hole. And that takes ponies.

Besides, two are more fun than one. Keep the 130, and be on the prowl for the off season opportunities that will arise when some guys wife is riding him like Zorro to free up that monthly payment. IMHO

you pretty much confirmed what i was thinking.. My aunt and uncle have a 2010 215sc and 2011 260RXT. My Aunts 260 is insane, and more work then fun IMO  my uncles 215 is that fine fine line but still unstable. i test drove my GTI130 before i purchased it and instantly fell inlove with how she handled on the water. I feel like if i could marry a 215 motor to my Hull it would be an AWESOME combo. I think the 155 would have been perfect, man am i kicking my self for not dropping an extra $1200 :o

Can a new impeller help with acceleration?

and your right, our driving styles are the same

if i get anything next its going to be a Sea-Doo Boat, But for a boat i think ill get the 215

215 motor in GTI hull = the GTR 215. And it's a blast. Feels a little unstable past 60 but not too bad.

That's an interesting point. I never gave hull designs/configurations much thought beyond a two seaters hull is shorter that a three...(not really certain if even that is accurate). At any rate, I think that a thread on hull specs/performance/attributes would make for really cool subject matter.

By "new"...I presume you to mean "taller". With added ponies...sure. Without them...it'd be a dog.

Speaking from a tad bit of experience..the 215 RXT pltform is not unstable...far from it.

If you're referring to my comment, you are correct. My RXT 215 is very stable at high speed. Far more stable in my opinion than the GTR 215 (which I referred to in my comment) which is based off the GTI hull for 2012.

Nope....I was referring to this one...heh. ;)
