Hood restoration test method

IMG_3951.jpegIMG_3953.jpegI read an old instructional thread on here from around 2014. I finally took 5 minutes and tested it out in this old hood. Old hood is wrecked, it was close to a house fire and melted part of the hood. If you zoom in on the photo you will see that there are blotches that are a lighter yellow than the rest of the hood, it’s my opinion that the lighter blotches are due to someone using the heat gun method at one time. Other than the lighter blotches I’m pretty impressed with the results, and from what I read this method that I used is supposed to be a long term fix unlike the heat gun method. I’m going to find that old thread again and re read it. If my memory serves me correctly, I’m supposed to follow this up with a lighter cutting compound. I’m excited to use this on my 95XP but want to be sure what I’m doing before I use it there. Anyways, just wanted to share this with you all. I will post back later

Pretty sure this is the thread I had read, going to have a look at it now

I couldn’t wait, I tried it on my 95XP, did the left side quickly. It’s hard to notice but there is a difference. I think I will only use the 49 instead of the 91 . This summer I will take that logo off the hood, go over well and put on the new logo
