I have a 2005 honda F12. I did a tune up (oil change, filter & plugs) and when I took the ski out for the first time it would not do mre than 4000 rpm in the water. Out of the water it seemed to run fine? It is also idling rough.
Any thoughts?

I'm no Honda expert but it sounds like you did something wrong with the spark plugs. Take them back out and see if one looks a different color than the rest. If so then that's your problem plug. Is it cracked? Gap OK?

I looked at the plug and cylinder 1 & 2 looked like they had been firing 3 & 4 looked clean I checked all four for spark and they all fired.

Hey Doc,
One more thing to consider with the plugs is that they are the right temperature as well. I think Dennis is on the right track here with first having you evaluate the plugs and moving on from there.

Also, I'm moving this thread to our forum for non-seadoo since this is for a Honda.

Thanks,

It is now in the section that says "Non-Seadoo PWC Talk".

Like Dennis was saying, check the plugs. Swap them out with some new ones too, and make sure they are
Lets completely eliminate that from the equation before doing further diagnosis.

If all plugs are firing then I'd have to assume that cylinders 3 & 4 aren't getting any fuel. Are the fuel injectors plugged in?
Were you having problems before you installed new spark plugs? Is it possible that the plug wires/coils are on the wrong plugs?
