I have about had it with my 95 xp. It was acting like it wasnt getting gas so I decided to change out the gray fuel lines and clean the carbs. The lines were a little bit slimy and plugged up but not completely. The carbs looked to be pretty clean and the filters werent clogged up. I put it all back together and it ran great on the hose so I took it down for a water test and same thing as before. It would stay running if I gave it throttle but would die when I let up on it. What could be the problem? Oh and I didnt rebuild the carbs just cleaned it and everything looked to be in good condition. Help me I want to enjoy these 90 degree days!
 
Did you check everything in the carbs? Did you pull all the jets? Did you blow out all the passages with compressed air? Did you check the pop-off? Did you check to see if the needle and seat could hold pressure?

With PWC carbs... you can't just look them over. EVERYTHING has to be verified.
 
You probly have a gummed up fuel selector valve. Does it run any differently if you change the position?
 
No I didnt test the pop off because I have no idea how to do it as with the needle and seat as well. How do you do this? I did blow out the holes and removed the jets. There was some gas behind the diaphram but that might have been my fault. How does the fuel get drawn from the gas tank? Today after trying to start it the inline filter under the hood was completely full with gas. I'm not to good with the mechanical part of it but can follow directions good and I would love to learn how to work on these. Thanks Doc!
 
As for the fuel selector I took it all the way off and made sure it was cleaned up and it doesnt run any different when I switch it from on to reserve.
 
I also have seen that they recalled these fuel tanks. My tank is cracked at the neck. Can mine still be covered by this?
