Wanting to add a USED step but don't know what will fit. I know that aqua step has a different model for the 96 xp than the 95 for some reason that I don't get. Here are my choices. Thanks for any help

ere r 3 different ones, which i have tried on a 96 gsx (close to a 95 xp)
the red one is from a kawasaki 1100, is $25, and mounting holes are 14" apart
the narrow black one is from a seadoo, is $35, and mounting holes are 14" apart
the wide black one is from a seadoo 4 stroke, is $40 , and mounting holes are 28" apart. i have same one with better foam for $50
+ shipping

the main difference on them seems to be the plastic spacer that comes with them to fit the brackets to the hull, so i think if you can make a shim from nylon or seaboard to match the flat bracket to the curved rear hull, any will work. the instructions that came with mine said to drill holes in the transom, but didn't say what size, so i've been a bit stuck there, plus other projects taking up time and haven't installed it.

Eh, I just flop around till I can get up on it....lol

I tried a stand-up for the first time last week, it made my XP feel like a barge trying to get up on it.

Keep us in the loop on your progress.

Lol that made me laugh. I don't have trouble getting on but my gf will be riding with me starting tomorrow so I'm wanting one to help with that. Gonna be a funny sight!! Plus we'll have my sweet little mini dachshund on there too. Lol I'll keep updated.

Out of almost 3 years riding mine, and I;ve only fell over once. To make matters worse, it was when I was sitting still and a wave from a boat hit me sideways. lol I guess I'm not riding it hard enough. :-)

I have to install a step too, since the time that I did fall over, I could not get back on, and a couple stopped to help me. When I'd try to get on, it would just turn over, under me with the nose in the air. I probably looked like a walrus, trying to get on that thing. lol

i believe the term you're looking for is "monkey humping a football"

Yea, that too. lol

I never knew how funny it looked until my brother in law rolled it the same day, and I was on a boat that time. I watched him try to get back on and had a good laugh, until I realized that I looked exactly like him, just an hour before. lol
