I had my 02 gtx 4tec out the other day, first time since I dropped a motor in it. Any how I drove for about 45 mins every thing was ok, till i rolled over, not completely, I was on my way back in and the engine bogged down and the oil light came on and was on no longer then a few seconds, then every thing was fine. Pulled in to the dock lifted the seat and theirs all my oil on the bottom of the hull. Any how quickly threw some more oil in,. brought it home, started it up to flush it out, and thats when I noticed the oil was pouring out of the drive shaft right in front of the ring seal carrier. Oh the motor sounded fine when it started. Any ideas. Thanks

There is a boot and bearing attached to the rear engine cover that the shaft goes thru before it splines into the crankshaft. It may be torn or came off the cover. There is also a "O" ring inside the end of the crankshaft where the shaft slides in. It may be bad. I'd replace both while I had the drive shaft out.

I don't have a clue what they'll charge. Make sure you tell them you want a estimate and if they do the repair you want your old parts back.

Good luck, DAWG
