HELP: im TRYING to change gauges...

my 96XP has VTS but the trim gauge is in terrible shape. it basically has been full of moisture for a long time, prior to me getting it, and even the needle is nonexistant. needless to say i bought a new one but cant get the old one out! im a girl, so my hands are small, & i still cant get a good enough grip from the back side to turn what would seem a two part obstile in getting it out.
im gone over my book time and time again but cant find a thing =[

any one had to change theirs??

Remove the 5.5mm screws, split the lid to reach into the underside of gauge and unscrew the collar nut. Push gauge outward. Bill

thanks bill. ive got all the 5.5mms around the edges, its still riveted to the mirrors tho. i cant quite get my hand up in there to turn the thingy to loosen it =[ anyone use any tools to loosen it?

We trust you plugged the new in to the connectors to see if all was well? Up/Down?
