Hey guys I have a 95xp I have to take out the crank shaft to replace it but I ran into a problem I can't get the flywheel off I have a pulled on it and I have let wd40 sit in the for 2 days with the pulled on with full tension i mean I have took an air gun to it and still won't pop I tapped the pulled with a hammer and it still has came off but I need to get it off anything will help thanks the motor is 717

Are you using a flywheel puller? I've broken several cheap autozone ones getting them off, use a breaker bar to get more leverage and a good smack with the sledge hammer..

I do have a good flywheel puller I have smack the crap out of the middle of the puller and nothing i have tried everything I can think of and I have done more then one flywheel remove lol I just can't get it off I

If it is that stuck, you may have to heat it up with a torch. I have never had to do that on a fly wheel, but I have had to do it many times when pulling props of a boat.

But heating the flywheel can damage it right? I mean I'm already into it for alot money I don't wanna put even more into it but I can think of anything else but I might try it out cause it's my last option thanks for the help?

You don't need to heat the whole fly wheel. All you need to do is heat the hub where is goes on the shaft. You are trying to get it to expand faster then the shaft. This will break the corrosion that is holding it. It should not hurt anything it if you are careful. You can get the hub glowing red and it will not do any damage. I am assuming you are doing this outside the boat. I would not do this with the engine in the boat.

Ugh...Except for the coil, you don't want to apply to much heat you'll melt the coil and need to replace it...

When I get a flywheel that wont come off...

1) Use a good puller. (you will break cheap ones)
2) Heat the hub, while under tension, using a heat gun. (this will normally get it to pop, and not damage the magnets, or stator)
3) hit the hub with a ball-peen hammer. (while under tension)
4) make sure you have grade 8 bolts (12.8 metric) grease everything on the puller... and hit it with an air impact wrench. (400 Lb/ft or better)

Yes
The motor is out of the seadoo I'm gonna try to heat it alittle and see what happens I don't want to hurt anything cause I have to use it on the other motor thanks for the input I will keep u guys up dated on what going on

Ok so I got the flywheel off by heating it up didn't take much to get it to pop off thanks for all the help but now I am good to go hopefully I have it running by Saturday and test it out on Sunday
