I have 2 96 787 xp I changed the inline oil filters last summer ever since I have bean getting oil in the hull on both of them I'm thinking what ever is causing the oil leak is probably the same problem for the both of them , does anyone know what could be causing this

That is where the oil line enters the oil tank. They are common failure issues. And the oil tank leaks on the seams as well. One year, and I think it is 96, has a seamless tank.

The XP's and SPX's all use the one piece tanks.
It is the GT series, RX & GS series's that went to the 2 piece crappy tanks.

Grommet Number is 570273900 & 709200285. THe 96' XP uses 2 grommets on the bottom.

I guess while changing the inline oil filters I must have done something to effect the grommet because both the of hulls are full of oil , are these hard to replace

I'll give you 5 hundos for everything. Honestly, pics would be great to really see what they're worth. Very hard to judge our area.

Are you still having issues? I'm not far from you if you need a tech to work on them. Usually looking to make a little extra scratch.

I have a friend that works on them he actually has them now he's cleaning the carbs since I haven't had them cleaned as long as I've had them and that's 3 maybe 4 years they run fine I just wanted the carbs cleaned before a problem does erupt the only issue I have with them is the oil leak he's also gonna see if he can work that out for me

I have 2 96 Xp 787 I had oil leaks in both of them after changing the in line oil filters after the clean up I have a few gallons of oil water mix does anyone no the proper way of disposing them

If you have the correct oil. From what i have read, the most costly ingredient of the oil is enzymes that break it down in nature. So it does not pollute. Might call your local solid waste disposer and ask them.

Where are u located

Down in Montgomeryville area

Drain it into containers and drop it off at Pep boys. Ask during business hours on where can you leave drain oil------DRAIN OIL. Most say to leave it by the bay doors or outback. Then go back at night since it isn't 100% drain oil. Remember, DRAIN OIL, not mixed. We don't have a solids waste disposal place around me.

I forget my area has so many resources for disposal. We are a large urban / industrial area. I can find almost anything around here I need. But, no Sea Doo Parts close to me. I have to take a 40 mile road trip for them!

Racer is correct. Pretty much anywhere will not take it if you say it is oil and water because then it is a "Hazardous" material. They will not tell you where to take it just that they can't so you are left with nothing. I had a big argument with an Autozone manager that wouldn't take my used diesel oil because it was not in an "Approved" container. I brought it in a Chevron Delo 400 5 GAL bucket. Not approved? So I argued that they must be selling oil in a non approved container also. Had to go to O'Riley with no questions asked.

Even worse try getting rid of 30 gallons of diesel/gas mix when your wife fills the F-350 diesel with gasoline:facepalm:

I have 2 96 787 XP I changed the inline oil filters sometime ago and I keep getting oil in the hull on both of them ever since I did this and I can't seem to find where the oil is coming from and I cleaned up the oil in the hulls numerous times so I figured switching to premix would solve the problem

Cleaned the hulls very well put rags down to see if I could find where it's dripping from found nothing , after cleaning them up I felt the oil lines from high to low for oil found nothing trying to avoid cleaning the oil out of the hulls again it's real mess and pain in the ass

Is the tank full? The seam on two piece tanks can leak. The gasket / washer / grommet where line connects to bottom of tank goes bad. Make sure all the oil lines have tight wire ties on them. If you have a pop off tester. Pressurize the tank to 5 pounds. See if you can make it leak. Clamp vent line and return line.

Why? The oil pump is extremely reliable and uses way less oil.
Since you asked you have to get a pump block off kit but keep the tank to make sure the rotary valve has a good supply of oil.
