hard steering

Is there any way to loosen up the steering on an rxt or does the steering cable always need replaced? I had it replaced 2 years ago and it is tight again. Tried lubing up some moving parts on the back end but no dice. Thx.

My 2006 had previously been used in salt water, it's hard to turn on at the extreme ends of the travel. When I researched the problem I read that the bushings at the handle bars can get corroded and cause it to be hard to steer. After checking the handlebar area, my hard steering ended up being the cable and once the corrosion sets in replacement seems to be the only fix.

I've lubed it up plenty and no improvement.

Flush it regularly with fresh water
