GTX DI: New rectifier, new problems

Happy Memorial Day Weekend all!

I have a 2002 GTX DI (yes, I'm sorry too), that is having some weird issues. About three weeks ago, I got the infamous "MAINT - 12V LOW" message. The ski would run in limp mode (20mph, 4300rpm) and make that awful beep noise. One day heading back in, the error went away, and the ski ran very good, day in an day out.

Afraid of an intermittent electrical problem, I ordered the heavy duty rectifier from onlyseadoo.com (good people). I was hesitant to install it, since the ski had been working well for me recently, but I installed it anyways (mistake). For the install, I disconnected the battery, mounted the new rectifier in a different location (so I could use the old one if necessary), and ran the ski yesterday. Immediately when I started the ski off the launch ramp, the MAINT message (no error msg) and terrible beep came straight away.

Whereas before it run in limp mode, now the ski will not go above idle speed at all. I switched back to the old rectifier (undid the battery), and the problem remains.

Now, as it sits, the ski doesn't even start (new or old rectifier, doesn't matter).

My battery has 12.55v. When I try to start the ski, it drops to 10.72v (and will not start). Is it possible this new rectifier damaged something? I suppose now I need to verify that my stator is producing the correct power/voltage. I hate to think that by replacing one part, now I need to replace the stator.

Help me get this fixed so A) I can enjoy the weekend with the family and B) not make me sell this thing!

Cheers

Because the the complexity of the systems, little stuff counts more than with a carbed machine. A loose wire or a weak battery is no big
deal on a carbed machine, but will shut down or limp mode a DI. Go over your wires loom connections.
What maintenance did you do on it? Press and hold the Mode or Set button for 5 secs when it's flashing to make it turn off.

Thanks for the reply.
Swapped the battery, and still wont start. Voltage drops to 10.5v when the starter motor is cranking. Troubling indeed. Any other ideas/thoughts?

Jet ski won't start, but I noticed that the fuel pump wasn't priming when I tried to start it. Hooked my pump up to the battery, and nothing. I guess I have a dead fuel pump. Wonderful.

You can get a new pump that meets & exceeds spec : sales@highflowfuel.com
E-mail them for part number: HFFS-342
Mark your fuel module as you disassemble it, its spring loaded. Hope this helps
