Last summer, riding wide open, my 2003 GTILE RFI completely died and wouldn't restart. Checking everything out later, I noticed that as soon as you put the DESS (key) on, the familiar noise of the fuel pump initially pressurizing the fuel system was absent, but everything else powered up and you could hear the relay energizing. Checking the wiring to the fuel pump, I learned voltage was present (4.9 - 5.1V) with the DESS key on, but the the pump wouldn't run. I deduced I had a failed pump and put a new one in. Well that's not it either. I checked my other Seadoo, a 2000 GTX with the same engine, and it has 5.6 volts at its fuel pump. Crosswiring with some long leaders from the 2000 GTX to the 2003 GTILE's fuel pump, the 2000 GTX will start the pump for the one second duration like it's supposed to when you energize its DESS key - so I know the new fuel pump is not bad. But I can't figure out why the 2003 GTILE won't start it's own fuel pump to initially pressurize its system. Both batteries the test were run with are are good showing 13V. I'm guessing the pump needs at least 5.5 - 5.7 volts to run and that I must have an electrical problem with the 2003's MPEM, from where the wires originate. Can't find anything in the shop manual to help with this one. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
