GTI Sponsons on 8' Hull?

I have a 91' xp with no sponsons that I'm currently rebuilding...

I have the reminents of a 96' GTI that I used for a jet-jon project. I pulled the sponsons off of it and was wondering what effect they might have on a smaller hull?

My first instinct is NO don't put them on the smaller hull but just wondering if anyone has any input....

I have a 90 that has the earlier GT sponsons on it. It's a great handling machine and always gets chosen for rides. Here is a thread I made on it a while back.... Hmmm links won't post for some reason. Search "Taz a 90 717 Modified From the Start"

I have added sponsons to those early XP's myself before and missed it though. It was keeping the nose too far down and plowing water like crazy. I got it right on the second try but had to fill 6 new holes under the water line. Luckily it was not a cream puff of a ski.

Those look like it or close. I have never had to take these off so I have not seen the inside.
