Gti le rfi no fuel

I just put an SBT rebuild in my 04 GTI and it does not seem to be getting fuel. I removed the plugs and turned it over to see if I could get fuel to spit out. no chance. any ideas what I am missing

Put some premix into the carbs. Sometimes they need a "prime" to get the system going.

Is the pulse line attached to the block?

My bad, posted to a wrong post. You do not have a pulse line. Sorry about that.

Can you hear the Fuel Pump run at al?

If not, check your fuses.

I have pulled the injector bar off and turned the motor over. Fuel is spraying out of the injectors. I have spark. I am thinking an ignition timing issue but not a rotary valve timing issue. Am I correct in saying if I had timed the rotary valve the wrong way the cylinders would have compression lock up. Is there a way to check the ignition timing.

Your RV plate is 159*. You will need your specific shop manual so you can place it on the correct shaft spline when the mag cylinder is at TDC. Use your clear plastic degree wheel, all as shown in your manual.

My RV is set at 147. Where did you find 159? Everything I researched says 147.

ok I found my problem. I was not supposed to remove the magneto from the flywheel. Does anyone have the proper procedure for re attaching the magneto so I have the correct timing.

159* is the duration. With the degree wheel "0" at bottom of mag hole, mark the timing going counter clock wise,
then slide on the valve plate. You can flip it over to get 1/2 a tooth. This is how you set the RV timing.

The older ones had an alignment mark at 9 o'clock. Not sure about your 787. Check the shop manual.
