Gti coil

Hello! I have a Gti 1998 which runs fine on the trailer but as soon as i put it in the water it will not pick up any speed! The local repair shop has said that the coil is the problem! Any ideas if this could be it? Plus most of the threads have pointed to the fuel system so im not sure where to start!

Any help would be appreciated! I know im from the uk but this forum is the best around!!!!

Hello! The problem started last season but not had the money or time to get it sorted. Ive changed the fuel for new, check fuel filter, changed spark plugs and ht wire heads and new battery! All this was done when I got it just before it all started!

so it runs,idles, revs and had good throttle response???? just wont go... you may wanna check ur wear ring homie!

runs fine, revs ok on trailer but as soon as its in the water it has no power and will not even rev out! Like its in a safe mode! will move but not very fast! This can be ok now and again!

its not the coil.

Pull the carbs, go thru them, and replace the grey fuel line. Your problem then, wil go away.

lol....thought you stated thats where you started... think you'll always want to start with the fuel system on these older ski's! just did mine cant wait to get them on the water.. let us know what happens!!!
