GTI backfiring through carb

Hey guys got the crank seal replaced put the engine all back on and it is still doing the same thing half throttle and up it is backfiring and breaking down the carb has been cleaned several times the plugs are black like it is running rich I am not sure what is up I am going to try a compression test and see what that reveals any help would be great

You may be leaking oil around your rotary valve it might not have been the crank seals in the first place if its still running rich let it sit overnight and pull the plugs out in the morning and hit the start button and roll it over and see if oil comes out.

Replace the RV cover seal, carb flange gaskets.

Ok I will try that thanks I have a complete engine seal kit I will try it tonight

Hey another qick question for you guys does this thing Have a rev limiter? also wondering if the drive shaft should wobble a lot. Thanks
