I have a 96 gsx that the engine locks up when spinning over. You can turn backward after breaking it back loose with a pipe wrench with your hand and won't stop turning. You can then turn normal over with starter it may turn just one revolution or may spin several times and lock back up. It lookis like it locks in the same position every time when I put a mark on pto shaft. any suggestions.

Have you checked to see if anything is stuck in the pump?? You need to do a compression test too.. The motor may have a blown and a compression test will give you some good info...

Seems to have good compression won't spin long enough to do accurate test. Blows out plug hole strong with thumb over hole. Looked in pump could not find any obstruction or other problem.

gsx wont start

sound like there is compression remove spark plugs and pto cover u should be able to turn engine via pto if this can be done fully, comple revolution, check your battery and starter including earth - cable on bottom of engine for fray and corrosion, if battery and cable o.k sounds like the starter brushes or starter itself.
