Hi and thanks in advance for any help
Ski was running great then after a rest it went great up to WOT and then started bogging down power loss
and if you work throttle as its doing it it makes no change then if you let it idle it will go great to WOT for about 5 secs and then bogging again never cut out at all seems like it running out of electrical power
as we changed the plugs while on water made no difference
got it home and checked fuel filter all good and i removed the kill switch (one of those red key ones) that previous owner had put on Has new battery
will have to go for water test

but is there anything else i should check before driving 30 mins to find its the same

Yeah change your grey fuel lines, and the fuel selector and rebuild the carbs. Mainly get the crap you'll find in the carb filters out of there.

Yup. Also check your battery voltage while running on the hose. Rev to 4000 rpms. You should be at 13.5-14 volts. If not you probably need to replace the rectifier too.

ok battery volts are at 14v at 4000rpm
carbs were rebuilt before i bought ski only put 1hr on them
can i clean out the fuel selector and where are carb filters im guessin where fuel lines go in

You can’t clean the selector . It has to be replaced. The spin filter is under your front hood opening.

Yes there is a small filter in each carb. We’re the carbs rebuilt with oem kits?

Given the history of aftermarket carb rebuild kits probably in your best interest to open them up to see what yove got in there. If it's not OEM then replace it and follow the rebuild thread on here to make sure you get all the holes cleaned out.

OK if i put air pressure in tank
disconnected fuel line before carbs it spits fuel and air
doesnt flow fuel nicely so maybe a cracked pick up

I'm gonna echo the others, rebuild the carbs with OEM kits, get new seats/needles, do it by the book, pressure test, ck pop off and so forth. Get a new fuel selector, check vents, run new fuel lines preferably clear tygon ones to see what's going on. Budget ~$200 for the piece of mind.

Do all that and post the results afterward...

how do you check pop off whats the process

It's not too bad of a process, there's a person on this forum by the user name @mikidymac that has a pretty good 'how to carb rebuild' tutorial to guide you. The link is in his signature block. For less that $20 you can put together a schrader valve, couple fittings and pressure gauge to do the pressure test. Once you tear the carbs down, do a good cleaning everywhere, all ports, jets, etc, you put it back together, diaphragm out, and check the pressure when the spring releases by applying air pressure to the carb. There's a spec you want, I believe it's between 23 and 41 psi. I got about 36psi per carb and went with it. Diaphragms held good at 10 psi. Pay close attention to all the jets, and the 3 tiny little holes in the barrel.

There should be a couple youtube videos of people doing this pop off test. Take your time, use a small piece of wire, carb cleaner and high pressure compressed air to blow/clean everything out. I had really bad carbs on the resto of my GTX, bent throttle plate, rust, corrosion, clogged jets, real problems. Be through, I even removed all the choke and throttle plates and polished the barrels. Out the chute, it cranked up fine, I adjusted the idle and I'm running great on the water with no issues.

Ok thanks for advise i think i am going to try for one thing at a time so i know what went wrong rather than go thru everything

i think i may have a fuel pickup issue thou
