Grease the shaft seal?

Any one know what to use and how to do this seemingly simple maintenance item? Mine has the carbon seal. Or is any maintenance even required?
I have access to many types of industrial type lubricants.

no maintenance needed on the carbon seal type grease is only needed for the bearing carrier type. if it is causing you problems you can loosen the hose clamp on the hull pull the boot tighter to the seal and re clamp it. you can put a tie strap between the hull and the boot to help hold it. it can be tricky better with an extra set of hands one to pull the boot and one to do the clamp.
