Gas cap issue

Got a new Wake 155 and had a really hard time getting the gas cap to unscrew. Went to add gas today and the cap wouldn't budge. Put some leverage on it and now the top half turns but the cap doesn't screw out of the tank. Has anyone else had issues with their gas cap getting stuck? Any suggestions how I can get it off?

if it's been cross-threaded...try an oil filter wrench.

Problem resolved. Wasn't cross threaded but stuck so tight the cap broke inside while trying to turn it. Dealer pried the top of the cap off and used needle nose pliers as a spanner wrench and got it to break free. Replaced the cap under warranty and all is good. New cap is nice and smooth.

Are the gas caps supposed to ratchet like on cars to keep from over tightening? Dealer says no but my cap looked to be made to ratchet.

i thought the same thing the other day.. mine does not though
