I have a 1996 challenger with the single 787 motor. I have 2 questions about the venting and hopefully someone can help..

1st- The vent line that comes off the tank to the hull. The black cap/vent on the hull...is that suppose to allow air to flow both ways or is there suppose to be a check valve in there???

2nd-The vent line coming off the baffle is very short and tees into the return line going into the baffle. That is how they show it in the manual under the fuel circuit picture. I question this because in the 1998 1800 I had, the vent coming off the baffle teed into the actual vent line going to the hull. Does this seem correct???

Thanks

The check valves should only allow air to flow one way.....usually "out" from the fuel system.

The one on the hull is for overflow. So it should flow out of the system to out of the hull.

the black fitting on the hull is just a vent. The vent hose on your boat should be attached to it's own fitting next to the hose used to put fuel in the tank.
