Took the boat out today w/ 3/4 tank on the guage. get out of the subdivision and into the bay and boat sputters and dies. i try to restart a couple times. engine will fire, but wont turn over. we pop the engine cover off and cant see any fuel in the tank. Got towed in, added gas and recharged the battery. now the check engine light wont go off and the boat wont begin to turn over or fire. you press the start button and nothing. I get the boat up on the trailer and pull the fuse box. 10 amp fuse to fuel pump is blown. i get it replaced and try to start again. blows new fuse immediately. still no fire or noise at all, nothing turning over. We disconnect the fuel guage and try again. now motor will fire, but wont turn over. it blows the 3rd fuse again. It looks to me like the fuel pump is fried and shorting out the system.
