Fuel line question

I have a 96xp that still has the grey tempo fuel lines. I bought new line and clamps to change them out. I'm new with all this but from joining this site and reading all the info everyone post I feel like I can handle the swap of lines. My question is with the filter in the carbs. The ski runs great and I really dont want to mess with the carbs. Do I need to do a rebuild of carbs if I take them apart to get to the screens? Can I clean screens and put back together without replacing anything?

You will probably need new base gaskets, so go ahead and get those before you pull the carbs off. You can get to the filters and clean them without replacing anything as long as the gaskets in the carb are in decent shape, although you may find that everything is old and crispy or really bunked up with the green goo once you get in there.

It’s really a good idea to go ahead and fully clean/rebuild them with genuine Mikuni rebuild kits, but it’s possible to open them up and check/clean the filters without replacing everything...

Ya I figured it would probably be best to rebuild them. I just hate to mess with something that is working fine. If i go with mikuni kit is everything I need in it? I was reading the carb rebuild section and it sounds like I will need to buy a base gasket separately?

Jeremy I see u already mentioned getting base gaskets if I just clean filters. If i buy the mikuni kit do they come with it?

You should do the entire carb or you really risk ruining your engines. If you want one stop shopping your best bet is OSD seadoo as kis kits come with everything including needle and seats and base gaskets.
