I have a 1995 GTS. I rebuilt carb and runs great at idle. When I run wide open after a few minutes will shut down. It may or may not start back right away. If I run just fast enough to plane out it runs fine. Any ideas?

Did you only use Genuine Mikuni parts?
Did you replace the fuel strainer, fuel selector and gray fuel lines?

Yes genuine parts. Fuel lines are gray, selector looks ok. I took strainer off and put an inline filter in.

Many will say the same thing I am about to say. Gray lines are bad need to be replaced they will clog carbs with green goo from ethanol gas. Need to put fuel strainer back on and get rid of the inline as they have caused issues. And fuel selectors tend to leak over time so dont clean them just replace with OEM one. Not saying these are the cause of your issue but until fix those items wont really know what could be causing the problem. Other than that the pressure relief valve on the fuel system has been known to cause issues so might want to check that as well if you replace the gray tempo fuel lines. New to wrenching on these things so other guidance maybe suggested from more experienced members.

Yes, fuel lines selector and strainer needs to be replaced. No inline fuel filters either.
