fuel gadget

Hello guys,
I just purchased 2003 speedster and looks like fuel gadget on the panel is not working (not showing fuel level in fuel tank when I turn on egnition key).
How can i verify if issue with gadget itself or inside the tank and how dificult it to replace them?

Search "Fuel gauge troubleshooting" on this forum and a ton of step by step solutions will come up. you will need a multimeter to do these. a great tool for troubleshooting in general...
